Harvester goes back to school with the launch of education packs

As part of its ongoing commitment to children Harvester has launched two education packs to help teachers and school children at Key Stage One and Key Stage Two level.

The packs, which have been written and piloted by teachers, contain a range of information and lesson plans designed to be delivered in class that are directly linked to the national curriculum.

The Key Stage One pack explores the importance of food, where food comes from and utilises exciting activities to illustrate what makes a balanced meal. The Key Stage Two pack builds on this, demonstrating what makes a balanced diet, how to keep a food diary, the effect of food on our body and food safety.

Kieran Rabbitt, retail operations director at Harvester, said: “We have created the ‘Fantastic Food’ pack to provide teachers with fun ideas, lesson plans and resources aimed at helping kids understand the importance of food, where it comes from and why we need a balanced diet.

‘The education pack is just part of our continued responsibility to children at Harvester. In 2007 we became the first national family restaurant chain to take a more European approach to dining by removing our children’s menu and replacing it with smaller portions of adult dishes.’

All teachers have to do to get a copy of the pack is email [email protected] for a physical copy or alternatively visit www.harvester.co.uk/schools and download the packs directly.
