FCFCG supports the development of school farms

The School Farms Network was formed to help existing school farm teachers to network and support each other, and provide a forum for collaborative activities, networking events, and to offer support for schools wishing to start keeping animals on their site. 66 schools in the UK manage a farm in their school grounds, ranging from a small holding to 120 acres. By August 2007 26 schools were being supported in their efforts to create new school schools. With FCFCG support, and backing from DCSF, specialists from the Network have written a new resource to help any teacher wanting to grow plants or develop their activities into keeping animals and farm livestock.
