Discover the amazing world of insects this summer:

  • Dozens of events will be taking place around the country, from night-time moth hunts to pond-dipping – find out what’s happening near you
  • Do your bit for insect research by taking part in our two-spot ladybird and blue-tailed damselfly surveys.
  • Enter our insect photography competition for the chance to win great prizes
  • Learn hints and tips on how to make sure your garden is insect-friendly in time for summer
  • Take part in our online poll to vote on which insects are the good, the bad, the most beautiful and the ugliest!

National Insect Week 2008 is sponsored in part by the Environment Agency and is working with a wide range of partners, from specialist entomological societies to national organisations concerned with many aspects
